What is parkour?
 
Parkour (sometimes abbreviated to PK) or l'art du déplacement(English: the art of displacement) is an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body.It is meant to help one overcome obstacles, which can be anything in the surrounding environment — from branches and rocks to rails and concrete walls — and can be practised in both rural and urban areas. Male parkour practitioners are recognized as traceurs and female as traceuses.
 
Who created parkour?
 
Parkour was founded by David Belle. Although he didnt entirly create parkour as the practisioners from Yamakasi also helped in developing parkour.
 
What's the difference between parkour and free running?
 
At first free running and parkour meant the same thing. Free running was created for the documentry Jump Britain as a word which was supposed to be easier on the english ear than parkour. But over the past few years free running has become its own separate discipline. Free running is now a sport, practically with the same movements of parkour but focused more in an aesthetic way which involves flips, spins and acrobatics as well.
 
Who can take up parkour?
 
Absolutely anybody can take parkour/free running. All you need is light clothing and some determination. Training with a group of friends always helps as well.
